Dexter Fish and Game. So . . . what kind of fish will I catch here? Anglers report that the lake if full of lake trout, smallmouth bass, white perch and chain pickerel.
Dexter has a year-round population of about 5,000 people. It’s located in
the heart of Maine’s snowmobile and ATV country. From Lake Wassookeag, you’ll have easy access to ITS 84, which opens up the entire state to you.
Also in Dexter, is the
Dexter Municipal Golf Course, a nine-hole course with a driving range–the perfect place to spend a few hours chasing that little white ball before heading back to the lake. Downhill skiing is only 30 minutes away at
Eaton Mountain.
The little town of Dexter was named for statesman Samuel Dexter.
It may be small, but offers all of the amenities. Main Street bustles with activity as people duck in and out of stores including

Dexter Regional Airport has a lighted and paved 3,000-foot runway waiting for your arrival.
Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are just over an hour away, while Bangor is thirty-five minutes from Dexter.
