Aug. 10-12, Friday-Sunday, 7:30pm/Fri. and Sat, 2pm/Sun, “Into the Woods,” a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales in a musical format that follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them, $16, $12/seniors and students, Lake Region High School, 1877 Roosevelt Trail, Naples. Aug. 10, Friday, 7:30pm, “Under the Umbrella,” virtuoso juggler and circus artist Steven Ragatz will perform gravity-defying acts and share eclectic stories from his world circus adventures. Hailed by the San Francisco Examiner as “impressive”, Steven Ragatz has been entertaining audiences with his juggling, physical comedy, circus arts and general antics for the past three decades. As a ten-year veteran of the French Canadian circus, Cirque du Soleil, Steven has toured throughout North, South and Central America as well as Asia and Europe performing multiple juggling acts and an eclectic array of characters. Aug. 10 and 11, Friday and Saturday, 7:30pm/Friday, 9:30am-3pm/Sat, “25th Annual Antique & Classic Boat & Car Show,” the show is a much-anticipated summertime event, and has lots to offer for boating enthusiasts, drawing crowds from all over Northern New England. The arrival parade will kick off on Brandy Pond, pass under the Causeway bridge, travel along the Causeway before looping twice around the town dock where the boats will be tied up for Saturday’s show. Aug. 14, Tuesday, 7:30pm, “Sebago Long Lake Music Festival,” as the Festival continues to remember the 100th anniversary of the death of Debussy, the Sonata for Cello and Piano, like all of his late works written during World War I, pays homage to a French musical tradition of elegance, clarity, and restraint. Kodály had a passion to preserve his Hungarian folk heritage; his Serenade for Two Violins and Viola is an ingratiating blend of folk inspiration and modern harmonies. In the melodically sumptuous Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, one of the great piano quintets of the Romantic era, Dvořák joyfully blends his Slavonic musical heritage with European classical traditions.
