Aug. 9-10, Friday-Saturday, 7:30pm, “Little Shop of Horrors,” meek flower shop assistant Seymour (Rick Moranis) pines for co-worker Audrey (Ellen Greene). During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. Aug. 9-11, Thursday-Saturday, 8pm, “The Legend of Georgia McBride,” he’s young, he’s broke, his landlord’s knocking at the door, and he’s just found out his wife is going to have a baby. To make matters even more desperate Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small-town Florida bar. When the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace his act, Casey finds that he has a whole lot to learn about show business and himself. A stitch-in-your-side funny comedy. Aug. 10, Friday, 2pm and 7pm, “The Sandy River Ramblers,” bluegrass music with a distinctly Maine flavor. Their 2012 CD, Cry of the Loon and other original songs about Maine, has been called “a gift to Mainers” by writer/journalist George Smith. With titles like Donn Fendler; Slow Down (You’ll Hit a Moose); Cliffs of Acadia; Boots From L. L. Aug. 11, Saturday, 7pm, “Folk-Singing Duo Renee Goodwin and Bob Simons,” the tight-knit harmonies of Renee Goodwin and Bob Simons have made them one of our favorite headliners at the Coffeehouse for the past 12 years. Central Maine’s favorite folk-singing duo performs both original and traditional folk and popular songs complemented by Bob’s intricate guitar accompaniment. There is a warmth that comes through their songs and it makes you feel like you’re listening to old friends. Discover the back streets and hidden stories of Hallowell, its mysteries and haunts.
