Own a Traditional Maine Cottage on Majestic Great Pond in Belgrade

Enjoy your Maine Cottage on Great Pond in Belgrade

Previously run as a sporting camp business, these traditional Maine Cottages on Great Pond in Belgrade offer you year-round enjoyment. You can go fishing, swimming, boating, biking, leaf peeping, hiking, hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing or snowshoeing. The cottages each have their own personalities and amenities, and they are all within a very short walk to a private 100 ft lakefront common area which includes your own private boat slip, two 50-foot docks, a swimming area, swim float, fire pits, picnic tables, and bath and club houses. The level landscape, quiet location and great water access make these a perfect spot for people wanting their own Maine getaway.

Unit #2 is an adorable camp that features 2 bedrooms with screened sleep porch, knotty pine interiors and wood floors. The inside has a beamed ceiling and open-floor plan concept. The screened porch fits a day bed perfect for visiting guests. There are just 24 steps from the door to the common area.

Unit #4 has an upstairs loft designed to fit a crew! The interior is classic knotty pine, and the kitchen-living space is open-concept. This unit includes a 12’x12’ screen house perfect for outside entertaining. It is only 46 steps from the door to the common area.

Unit #6 carries on the camp tradition, but it includes a more modern-looking kitchen area. The unit includes a washer and drier and knotty pine interior. This unit also includes a 12’x12’ screen house for enjoying a bug free summer night or a shady afternoon. It has great lake views. There are 72 steps from the door to the common area.

Unit #8 is homey with painted walls and knotty pine beams. It sports an upstairs featuring 2 bedrooms and a loft, and it has a washer and dryer. Again, this cottage has an open kitchen-living space, and its many windows provide views of the water. The cottage sits further back from the road than the other cottages, and it is 88 steps from the door to the lakefront area.

Unit #10 has an upstairs with two bedrooms and a four-season sleep porch. It too has a knotty pine interior and washer and drier. It is located behind Unit #2 and Unit #4 and has lake views. It is about 35 steps to the common lakefront area.

Unit #12 is the largest of the cottages and includes a full basement and large yard. The upstairs has a large loft designed to accommodate many guests or just provide plenty of room for the kids to play on a rainy day. This cottage sits above and behind the others and is the most private. There are 100 steps from the door to the common area.

The location of these cottages on Great Pond makes them a real Maine destination. Great Pond measures roughly seven miles north to south by 4 miles east to west. It has a surface area of 8239 acres, has a maximum depth of 69 feet and a mean depth of 21 feet, and its shore length is over 46 miles. It is among the largest bodies of water in the world called a “Pond.” Thanks to the hard work of The Belgrade Lake Association, Great Pond is blessed with above average water quality. It has been a destination of boaters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts for many, many years.

Nearby to the cottages is Belgrade Village. It is an adorable little town with convenience store, gas, bank/ATM, spa, gift shops, antiques, several restaurants (some accessible by boat), mail boat rides and Belgrade Lakes award winning 18-hole golf course. LL Bean and the Freeport outlets are only 45-minutes away and the Maine capital of Augusta is only 25 minutes away. In Augusta, you’ll find all the amenities you need, including big box stores, grocery stores, banks, movie theaters, and airport and museums.

The current owner has felt blessed to be able to own and operate the cottages since 1999. He has had the opportunity to meet many great people. The lovely lake views, fishing and boating, and time spent just watching the loons, ospreys and eagles have offered years of enjoyment. His favorite local spots have included the Belgrade Lakes Village, Kennebec Highlands (a 6,800-acre protected area containing the highest peaks in Kennebec County), and the Belgrade Lakes Golf Course. It is now time to pursue of ventures in life, however, and he has decided to offer the cottages as condominiums for others to enjoy.
