June 1, Friday, 7pm, “Piano Concert with Jonathan Bass,” this is the first piano series appearance for Steinway artist, Jonathan Bass, known to Gendron Franco Center audiences for his critically-acclaimed appearances here with the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra. Recognized for his keyboard abilities early on-he was a major prize winner in several national and international competitions. June 1, Friday, 7:30pm, “Phil House,” Pianist and organist Phil House is known for his stride technique and stirring spiritual style. His 45-year career in music began by playing piano by ear at age 5. His gift took him to Nashville for a dozen years, and House has played as far away as Vienna, Austria. For the past 30 years, House has made Auburn UU his musical home. He is a frequent performer at Poland Spring Chapel and also a beloved regular at local nursing homes. Perhaps his old bumper sticker best describes his passion for music: “When words fail, music speaks.” Concerts for a Cause brings special concerts to the LA community while raising money for area charities.
