Apr. 19, Thursday, 6pm, “AMC Potluck and Presentation: Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument,” join us for an exciting presentation on Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument – Maine’s Newest National Monument. We will entice you to visit KWWNM with a video (a Pamola Creative Film). – In September of 2017, a team of four Maine-born photographers and filmmakers set off into Katahdin Woods & Waters to document the land in hopes of encouraging more public use. Their film, ‘Monumental’ , documents a five day, 64-mile-long human powered circumnavigation of the park by canoe, bike, and foot. Susan Adams, Recreation Manager at Elliotsville Plantation, Inc. will explain about the many things to see and do in the monument. We’ll entice you with photos and details on how you can enjoy what the monument has to offer and how you can get involved in shaping this gem. We’ll also hear from Andrew Bossie, Executive Director for Friends of Katahdin Woods and Waters, a membership organization working to raise funds and support for the Monument. He’ll share early accomplishments and plans moving forward, including how you can raise your voice during the management planning process for the Monument’s future, free, Curtis Memorial Library, Morrell Meeting Room, 23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick.
