Apr. 12, Thursday, 6pm, “Author Event: Bruce Robert Coffin,” the bestselling author of the Detective Byron mystery series and a former detective sergeant with more than twenty-seven years in law enforcement. At the time of his retirement, from the Portland, Maine police department, he supervised all homicide and violent crime investigations for Maine’s largest city. Bruce also spent four years working counter-terrorism with the FBI, where he earned the Director’s Award, the highest honor a non-agent can receive. Apr. 13, Friday, 7pm, “John and Cynthia Orcutt – Enduring Heights, The High Peaks of Maine,” John and Cynthia Orcutt will present images from their recently published book, Enduring Heights, The High Peaks of Maine, with a focus on encouraging a balance between development and conservation in the region. Conservation efforts in the area will be described using maps and photos from the book. Carolann Ouelette, Executive Director of Maine Huts & Trails, will join the Orcutts for a discussion on environmentally sensitive development in the High Peaks area. Apr. 13, Friday, 7:30pm, “Adam Ezra Group,” this songwriting group is making waves around the country and they’ve recently received “Song of the Year” at the New England Music Awards. A songwriting partnership with the legendary John Oates is currently taking Ezra back and forth between Nashville and touring. The group is made up of lead singer, songwriter and guitarist, Adam Ezra, Alex Martin on drums, Turtle on percussion, Corinna Smith on fiddle, Francis Hickey on bass and Josh Gold on keys.
