Mar. 29, Thursday, 6pm, “A Visit with Ida,” Join Ida LeClair, the star of “Ida: Woman Who Runs With the Moose,” “Ida’s Havin’ a Yard Sale!” and “A Very Ida Christmas”, has been called “the funniest woman in Maine.” She will crack you up with her insights into love, friendship and the Pine Tree State of mind. Ida is the brain child of award winning writer and performer Susan Poulin. Selected by Portland Magazine as one of the Ten Most Intriguing People in Maine, Susan has been creating and touring her original theatrical productions since 1992. Mar. 30, Friday, 4:30pm, “Walk in the Park,” National Take A Walk in the Park Day” is observed annually on March 30th as an opportunity for exercise and relaxation. Often calming and therapeutic, a walk helps clear the mind. It also helps re-energize and improves health. Auburn’s park walk will begin at 4:30PM on Friday, March 30 at the Knight House, just below West Pitch Park. The walk will meander toward Sullivan Square via the Riverwalk, Festival Plaza, Bonney Park, and the Art Wall. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk. Mar. 31, Saturday, 2pm and 7pm, “Pihcintu Multicultural Chorus,” The University of Maine at Farmington Emery Community Arts Center is excited to present the inspiring sounds of the Pihcintu Multicultural Chorus. This international choral group brings together refugee children from around the world to share their music and stories of their homelands and the experience of being a refugee in Maine. This unique chorus of young women from Cambodia, China, Congo, El Salvador, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Viet Nam, British West Indies, and Zambia, along with children whose families have been here for generations, have formed a powerful and permanent bond. Through the healing power of music, these vulnerable, yet brave, young women have learned to trust, hope and laugh again. The children and their music are transformative.
