Each film will be followed by a Q&A and may include include movie trivia, a taste of fare and drink, or a drawing for a gift certificate to a local business, each specific event will be tailored to that month’s documentary selection, Hoop Dreams is a 1994 American documentary film directed by Steve James and written by James and Frederick Marx, with Kartemquin Films, it follows the story of two African-American high school students in Chicago and their dream of becoming professional basketball players, donations are welcome, Engine, 128 Main St., Biddeford. Jan. 13, Friday, 3-5pm, “Piano Recital,” Seacoast students of award winning pianist, teacher and mentor Paul Dykstra, will present a free public piano recital by the fireside at York Public Library. The five performers: Lucas Nering, pianist and composer, Hannan Faust, Sonall Cowieson, Braeden Schafroth-Bach, and York native Amy Cunningham, will play great works from the Masters, a duet, and even some jazz.
