Dec. 15, Friday, 7pm, “Yuletide Concert with Great Bay Sailor,” a celebration of the hidden sounds of the season. Great Bay Sailor’s Yuletide repertoire is comprised of songs found in the traditions of such diverse settings as isolated Irish village churches, English pubs, the mountain cabins of Appalachia, Hebridean households, Canadian social clubs, and the creative genius of contemporary bards and songwriters. Dec. 15-17, Friday-Sunday, 7:30pm/Fri. and Sat, 2pm/Sun, “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” a play by Charles M. Schulz with music by Vince Guaraldi: The classic animated television special A Charlie Brown Christmas comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation. Charlie Brown and the Peanut’s Gang discover the real meaning of Christmas. Dec. 16, Saturday, 1-4pm, “Center for Wildlife’s Holiday Bazaar,” visitors can browse nature-inspired gifts in our pop-up gift shop, like hand-crafted hemlock wreaths, wildlife holiday cards, locally-crafted pottery, ambassador adoptions, photography, goat’s milk soap from Jenness Farm, and much more. Visitors will also get the chance to meet our owl, hawk, falcon, and other ambassadors up-close, tour their outdoor enclosures, and support the Center while doing their holiday shopping, free, Center for Wildlife, 385 Mountain Road, Cape Neddick. Dec. 16, Saturday, 8pm, “The Voice Winner: Sawyer Fredricks,” talent scouts from NBC’s Emmy Award singing competition, The Voice, found him on the internet and asked him to audition. At age 15, with one of the fastest 4 chair turns in Voice history, Sawyer’s stark honesty and soulful delivery turned him into a national phenomenon. Dec. 19, Tuesday, 7:30pm, “A Victorian Christmas,” presented by York High School Drama Department, under the direction of George Hosker-Bouley, Guests will be greeted by costumed actors as they welcome you into their home and regale you with tales of their family history. Once everyone has arrived the family of actors will present a staged reading of Dylan Thomas’ “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” and a few other short selections.
