As the action unfolds we learn that Sharon and Kenny met at rehab, neither is employed, and they don’t own a stick of furniture. The quintessential American backyard party quickly turns into something more dangerous—and filled with potential, pay-what-you-can, The Theater Project, 14 School Street, Brunswick. Oct. 27-28, Friday-Saturday, trains leave every half hour 4:30pm-8pm, “Ghost Train,” the Boothbay Railway Village will once again be cloaked in mystical moonlight and creepy candlelight for the Ghost Train. Totally reimagined by a new, all-volunteer committee, the Ghost Train will now have some new features. Just once a year the ghouls and goblins come out to haunt the otherwise peaceful Boothbay Railway Village. Passengers will journey through enchanted cemeteries, see zombies and other ghastly things, hear the calls of strange beasts and experience other unimaginable apparitions. Unsuspecting visitors must enter the haunted station to board the Ghost Train, if they dare. Witches and other monsters will assist the engineer and train crew with departures every 30 minutes. The first two trains at 4:30 and 5 p.m. are perfect for tiny tots. The trips leaving at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. will be a bit spookier as the sun sets. For older kids, plan to travel with us at 7, 7:30 or 8 p.m. when the creepy crawlies and sinister spooks will travel right on board the train with you and things will get scary. Guests are encouraged to dress up and bring along their own trick or treat bag. They will be invited to trick or treat though the Village and end up at the new Charlotte’s barn (featuring Wilbur too!) hosted by the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library for one last scare. Your ticket is a passport and will guide you around the Village. Passengers should arrive and be ready to board the train at least 15 minutes prior to your preferred departure time. The train ride is only one part of a Ghost Train experience. It lasts approximately 15 minutes but we recommend allowing 1 hour to do all the other activities, which you may do in any order, $8/4 and up, free/3 and younger, Boothbay Railway Village, 586 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay. Playing Victor Frankenstein is MAS regular Tyler Johnstone. Belfast city councilor Eric Sanders plays the creature. The large cast includes Julia Clapp, Dakota Wing, Gwen Elise Higgins, James Clayton, Matt Shelton, Olivia Andrews, Wiley Fowler, Jay Rosenberg, Jay Holland, Chris Groden, Jessica Moore, Linda Leppanen, Jakob Sutton, Ivy Lobato, Phoebe Norman and Melora Norman, $18/adults, $13/students, The Crosby Center, 96 Church Street, Belfast.
