Aug. 17-20, Thursday-Sunday, 7pm/Thurs-Sat, 3pm/Sun, “Something Wicked this Way Comes,” the second session of Dramatic Academy Summer ’17 will culminate with four performances of this rich adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic story. One strange and dark year long ago, Halloween came early on October 24, the exact same time that Cooger & Dark’s Pandemonium Shadow Show rolled into town. Aug. 18-20, Friday-Sunday, 7pm/Fri. and Sat, 2pm/Sat. and Sun, “Nunsense,” follows the crazy antics of five nuns from the Little Sisters of Hoboken convent. When their cook accidentally serves up some tainted soup, 52 of the sisters are poisoned and die, leaving only five living nuns who were not at home the day of the toxic meal. When the convent’s first in charge, Reverend Mother Regina, splurges on a plasma TV, the sisters find themselves strapped for cash, as they still have four dead nuns to bury (whose bodies are being stored in the kitchen freezer!). Aug. 18, Friday, 7pm, “Ashley Storrow and Putnam Smith,” Up-and-coming songwriter Ashley Storrow’s radiant voice and thoughtfully crafted songs have quickly grabbed listeners’ attention. She began writing as a child on a farm in Western Massachusetts with a hay wagon as the stage and sheep for an audience. She has since expanded her following, ranking #2 on Reverbnation’s folk music chart in Maine, and she has shared the stage with Putnam Smith at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase and One Longfellow Square (2016). Ashley released her debut CD the “Bear and the Bird” in July 2016.
