“The Secret Life of Puffins,” Camden Public Library

Jan. 19, Thursday, 7pm, “The Secret Lives of Puffins,” Mid-Coast Audubon will host Susan “Seabird Sue” Schubel as she reveals the secret lives of puffins. Puffins! Cute and cuddly, but what do you really know about them? Maine is the only state in the U.S. where Atlantic Puffins breed, nesting on just four islands here. They raise single chicks in underground burrows and then migrate away from their islands in late summer, out to sea. For a long time no one knew where in the sea they went. At last, new information has helped us understand the mysterious winter life of the Atlantic Puffin. Come learn where puffins winter, how they live, and the latest news from researchers on fish and birds, free, Camden Public Library, 55 Main Street, Camden.
