“New Year’s Comedy Show,” Buckfield High School

Dec. 29, Thursday, 4:30-7:30pm, “Apres Ski,” head to the Blizzard’s Lounge after a day of skiing for some entertainment, Chad Porter is a singer, songwriter and musician from southern Maine, his stage presence, vocal presence, vocal prowess and ability to connect with his audience are unwavering. His live shows are a combination of the hundreds of unbelievable cover songs he draws from and his own catchy original songs, Blizzards Pub, Shawnee Peak, 119 Mountain Road, Bridgton. Dec. 29, Thursday, 6pm/dinner begins, “Family Peak Dinner,” ride the Chondola to the resort’s mid-mountain Peak Lodge for a family dinner with special guest Eddy the Yeti and his friend, Betty. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be greeted by Eddy and Betty. A reading from the Eddy the Yeti book will follow. Dec. 31, Saturday, 4pm, “New Year’s Eve Intentional Sauna Ceremony,” Find relaxation and renewal on this hybrid sweat lodge ceremony. Bring in the New Year intentionally and consciously at our traditional wood fired sauna tucked in the forest near our spring fed mountain brook. This ceremonial sauna will be enriched with intentions, releasing, chanting and gratitude rounds. We will reflect on our past year, discover lessons along the way and bring in a new beginning for 2017 that aligns with our soul’s calling. Light refreshments will be served. The twangy country rock and roll sounds of this fun band, s fronted by SMAC favorite and crooner Ward Hayden. Jan. 1, Sunday, 1pm, “19th Annual New Year’s Hike,” Begin 2017 with some fun and FREE exercise. Join Healthy Sacopee for our 19th Annual New Year’s Hike Jan. 1st. The hike is approximately 2 miles. We’ll walk on snowmobile trails in woods near the Health Center. Children are welcome. Dogs, too, but they must be on a leash. Stormy weather?
