Oct. 7, Friday, 7pm, “Paper Lions Concert,” Come enjoy the music of this Indie rock band from Belfast, PEI whose music shines with the sunny melodies and tales of lost youth. Influenced by the clear-voiced harmonies of the Beach Boys and the clanging guitars of modern rock. Oct. 7, Friday, 7pm, “Kelly Raven and Lowell Thompson,” Music found under blue collars. Kelly Ravin is a musician hailing from the Green Mountain State of Vermont. He writes songs about real life. Kelly’s latest album, “Leathered, Weathered, Worn, and Wiser”, was recorded live in a tattoo shop in Belfast, ME with shotgun shell mics, and a room full of friends and family. Oct. 9, Sunday, 3-5pm, “Bangor Symphony Orchestra,” an all-American program led by Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman, at the Collins Center for the Arts. George Gershwin’s iconic “Rhapsody in Blue,” featuring guest pianist Andrew Staupe, will anchor the concert, which also will feature the music of Leonard Bernstein, a Maine premiere by Christopher Theofanidis, and an overture by former BSO conductor Peter Re, who died this summer, Collins Center for the Arts, 2 Flagstaff Rd, Orono.
