Sept. 1, Thursday, 1-4pm, “Almeida Live: Richard III,“ the Almeida Theatre makes its live screening debut with an explosive new adaptation of Richard III, directed by Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold with Ralph Fiennes as Shakespeare’s most notorious villain and Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Margaret. War-torn England is reeling after years of bitter conflict. Sept. 2-4, Friday-Sunday, all day events, “Camden Windjammer Festival,” the annual Camden Windjammer Festival welcomes the largest gathering of schooners in North America on September 2nd, as ships arrive to Camden’s inner harbor in procession. Kicking off the 3-day festival celebrating Maine’s maritime heritage and the coast’s windjammer history, the fleet is expected to be welcomed by thousands who flock to the area for a taste of the seafaring life. Sept. 2-7, Thursday-Wednesday, all day events, “Boothbay Harbor Fest,” it’s a celebration of creativity and individuality in Boothbay Harbor that includes a fashion show, live music showcase, 5K, half-marathon, wellness fair, “A Taste of Local Flavor” food tastings at several restaurants, pubs, markets, shops and inns, “A Stroke of Art art show” and much more merriment on the midcoast, various venues, Downtown, Boothbay Harbor.
