“Harmony Free Fair,” Harmony Fairgrounds

Sept. 2-5, Friday-Monday, all day events, “Harmony Free Fair,” a full music schedule, Friday night features the Friday Night Jammers. Saturday’s scheduled performers are: Bob Elston’s Road Rangers with Marlene Carpenter, Keagan Page, and Sons of Be’s in the evening. Sunday features Wildwood, EP Rock (sponsored by C&R General Store), and Sharon Hood and Dixon Road. Conjuring Carroll and Mainely Balloons will be at the Fair on both Sunday and Monday. Monday’s entertainment will be the Half Moon Jug Band and Steve Corning, and of course our Talent Show at 5pm. Sept. 2, Friday, 5pm, “Q106.5 Original Country Gold Party,” Grab your lawn chairs, gather up your friends and head to the Bangor Waterfront for the biggest Country Gold summer party that Maine has ever seen! Party with Rowdy Yates and your favorite Q106.5 announcers on the beautiful Bangor Waterfront while hearing classic country sounds. There will be games, prizes, yummy food for sale and frosty drafts from Spectacular Events Bar Service, including your favorite Sea Dog brews. At 7:30 p.m. county music legend, Sammy Kershaw will light up the stage for an evening of real County Gold music! Sammy Kershaw has over 25 hits on the Billboard Charts, with favorites such as “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful“, “Love of My Life“, “Queen of My Double Wide Trailer” and “Third Rate Romance“. Sammy acknowledges that the country music industry has changed, but he’s vowed to stick to his country roots and keep making traditional country tunes. Plus games, prizes and photo booth by Photo Booth’s of Maine. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Additional details: Please bring your own lawn chairs. All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable. No food, beverages or weapons may be brought into the venue, but lawn chairs and umbrellas are allowed. All ages are welcome. Sept. 3-5, Saturday-Monday, 10am-5pm, “17th Annual North Country Inter Tribal Pow-Wow,” Emcee: James Augustine Host Drum: Grandmother’s Tears Other drums include: Sacred Wolf Singers, Black Hawk Singers, and Fish River Singers. We will have 25-30 Vendors and Traders. Come celebrate the Native American heritage and culture with drums, dancing, singing, and food. Sept. 3, Saturday, 10am-3pm, “Great Fire of 1911 Walking Tour,” In April, 1911 a spark in a riverside hay shed ignited a fire that devastated much of Bangor’s downtown and threatened many of her neighborhoods. Join us as we follow the flames’ path and learn which structures survived and how Bangor and her people recovered from the devastation, $10/adults, $5/12 and under, Thomas A. Sept. 3, Saturday, 7:30pm, “Foxcroft Academy Alumni Jazz Band,” The Foxcroft Academy Alumni Jazz Band will knock your socks off! They have been playing together since the band reunited in 1982. The 14 piece Big Band plays big band era music as well as newer Pop, Waltz, Swing tunes and Latin numbers. The band plays for many events including wedding receptions, dances, outdoor summer concerts and the annual Foxcroft Academy Alumni celebration.
