July 28-31, Thursday-Sunday, all-day events, “Maine’s Roots and Americana Fest,” festival includes free workshops with internationally acclaimed, grammy winning artists, free yoga classes, free children’s music programs, free camping, and three stages with national headliners and regional favorites. Headliners this year include the grammy winning and nominated John Jorgensen Gypsy Jazz Quintet, Sarah Jarosz, Mandolin Orange, The California Honeydrops, Claire Lynch, Parsonsfield, Ghost of Paul Revere, SHEL, The Suitcase Junket, and many more. Local food is featured throughout the festival, and local beer from 5 breweries and cocktails from Vena’s Fizz House are featured in the brew tent. July 30, Saturday, 8pm, “Matt Wilson’s ‘Great One-Man Commedia Epic,” Matthew R. Wilson single-handedly brings to life the entire cast of 10 characters drawn from the historical Commedia dell’Arte. The story is the classic story of Italian Renaissance comedy: Young lovers have their lives thrown into chaos as their wedding plans are threatened by squabbling fathers, boasting war heroes, and a host of well-meaning but dim-witted servants. July 31, Sunday, 9am-4pm, “7th Annual Moore Park Art Show,” forty of Maine’s finest artists and handcrafters join some of Maine’s best performers for full day of live entertainment and fine local fare. Finely crafted artwork of all kinds and styles will be exhibited by artists set up around the charming gazebo at the historic Moore Park on Route 26 in South Paris for a day of fun for all ages. Joining the artists will be a slate of musicians, dancers and theatrical performers, including a special grant-funded performance by the Celebration Barn, and a free children’s theater workshop hosted by the ring leader of Circus Ole and Feast of Fools.
