April 21, Thursday, 7pm, “Ukulele Strummers of Southern Maine,” a group, with a couple of duets interspersed. Learn about the history of the instrument, different types of ukuleles, and other interesting facts. Come just to listen and learn, or bring your own ukulele and play along! April 21-23, Thursday-Saturday, 7:30pm, “A Picasso,” Paris. 1941. The emotionally volatile artist, Pablo Picasso, has been summoned by German Occupation Leaders to a basement vault for questioning. His interrogator is the tense and beautiful Miss Fischer, a cultural attache from Berlin. April 24, Sunday, 2pm, “Maine Highland Fiddlers,” part of the traditional Celtic music revival that thrives throughout the North Atlantic rim, the music of Scotland, Cape Breton, Ireland and the Shetlands resonates well with the rich heritage of Maine’s early Celtic settlements. Along with fiddles, the group includes guitar, bodhran, and piano. The group of seven musicians gathers through Southern, Western and Mid-Coast Maine to perform, pass on and renew the Celtic fiddle tradition.
