Feb. 18, Thursday, 6-8pm, “Fly Tying: All Levels,” have you ever been curious about how a hand crafted fly fishing fly was created? In this course, we will learn the basic techniques used in fly tying to create an artificial representation of a naturally occurring insect or fish. Fly tying combines science and art in the way that we as fly tiers can duplicate the things that all types of fish are attracted to using feathers and thread. Once the basic techniques covered in a class are learned and understood, the student can take the craft as far as their imagination allows, combining different colors and different types of feathers to create a tangible object of beauty that also catches fish! This is a one time class, but follow up classes can be available upon request or continuing interest. All necessary tools and materials will be provided, $10, Compass Project, 20 Maplewood Ave, Biddeford. FMI: 207-370-9130, www.feedtheengine.org.
