Dec. 11-13, Friday-Sunday, 7:30pm/Fri.-Sat, 2pm/Sun, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” In this hilarious Christmas classic based on the book by Barbara Robinson, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. Dec. 12-13, Saturday and Sunday, 7pm/Sat, 1pm/Sun, “Dinner with Dickens: A Christmas Carol-A New Musical Tale,” his One Man musical extravaganza comes to life with original heart-warming music and lyrics by Nancy Day and a theatrical adaptation by local actor, Kirk Simpson. Simpson, the star of Clay Hill Farm Presents…, has brought many beloved historical and fictional characters to life since the dinner-theatre series debuted 4 years ago. Dec. 14-15, Monday-Tuesday, 7pm, “Thornton Academy Holiday Concert,” will feature the Concert Band, String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band, Treble Choir, Chamber Singers, and Concert Choir. The evening is a showcase of talent in two installments. The first half will bring you classic holiday favorites such as “Sleigh Ride” from the Concert Band, “Swinging on the Housetop” from the Symphony Orchestra and “Faith Noel,” a Trans Siberian Orchestra piece featuring an electric violin solo. Jazz Band rounds out the first half with “Nutcracker Swing,” “The Grinch” and “Swingin’ and a Jinglin’.” The three choirs will present the second half of the Holiday Concert.
