Dec. 11, Saturday, 7:30pm, “A Charlie Brown Christmas-the Heather Pierson Quartet,” The Heather Pierson Quartet will perform Vince Guaraldi’s classic score for “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” In addition to performing the beloved score for the Peanuts holiday television special, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, the quartet will perform other Vince Guaraldi classics and holiday favorites. Dec. 13, Sunday, 2pm, “Sheepscot Valley Chorus Holiday Concert,” featured on the program is the Vivaldi Gloria, performed with a professional chamber orchestra and featuring soprano Nina Tilander, with soprano Linda Blomquist and alto Sarah Highland. Soloists and orchestra also will join the Chorus for the second half, which includes John Rutter’s lyrical What Sweeter Music, Herbert Howells’ A Spotless Rose, featuring baritone Jim Crowley, works by Keith Francis, and traditional carols such as Winter Wonderland and I’ll Be Home for Christmas. As a special treat, Nina Tilander will perform Max Reger’s beautiful Mariä Wiegenlied (Mary’s Lullaby) with a new arrangement for piano quintet by Sean Fleming.
