Oct. 23, Friday, 7:30pm, “Crystal Bowersox and Seth Glier,” singer-songwriter and actress Crystal Bowersox’s rich amalgam of blues, country, folk and rock makes her one of the most dynamic young voices in music to come along in years. Along with her old soul of a voice, her care-free style and “don’t mess with me” attitude has landed the self-taught songstress performances with the like of the legendary Joe Cocker, Harry Connick, Jr., Michael Franti, BB King, and Alanis Morrissette. Oct. 24, Saturday, 3pm, “Jesse Feinberg,” a UUCB Concert for a Cause, a virtuoso performer of a broad range of styles and a gifted improviser and composer, Feinberg will perform popular and jazz standards, some modern French pieces, as well as his original compositions and improvisations that he will create on the spot during the concert. A resident of Maine since 2008, Feinberg trained in New York City, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and at the University of Maine Augusta, where he is now on the piano faculty. His work with theater and dance groups and his appearances solo and with jazz and blues groups have made him a familiar and welcome performer on tours and in more local settings. Oct. 26, Monday, 4pm, “Bath Cemetery Tour: Famed Captains and Shipbuilders,” join the lady in the red cloak for a guided trolley tour to one of Bath’s oldest and largest cemeteries. Oak Grove Cemetery contains the most varied collections of memorial art in Bath and is a virtual who’s who of 19th and 20th century maritime families along with many of Bath’s leading citizens. Learn about the fascinating history of these shipbuilding competitors, and the adventurous lives of famous Bath sailors. We’ll closely examine the intricate and affecting symbolism of these amazingly crafted memorials to gain a greater understanding of Bath’s Maritime prominence.
