Maine Lakes Brew Fest at Point Sebago Resort
What’s on Tap in the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine?
by Leigh Macmillen Hayes
The 12th annual Maine Lakes Brew Fest will take place under the tent beside the sparkling waters of Sebago Lake on Saturday, September 26th.
This is an opportunity for you to sample a variety of beer, wine, cider and mead from such breweries as
Allagash, Boothbay Craft, Bray’s, Downeast Cider House, Maine Mead Works, Pennessewassee, Tumbledown Brewing and about 25 others.
Craft beer is the focus, so come learn about pale ales and IPAs, porters and stouts, wheats, ambers and lagers. By
sampling a variety, you can compare styles and discover what you really enjoy.
Brewers are located under two large tents on the beach, so the event happens
rain or shine. With Sebago Lake as a backdrop, this is the perfect place to mingle while enjoying your favorite brews. It doesn’t take long for the crowd to become one happy family. Someone raises a glass in a toast, and like the wave at a football stadium, raised glasses and cheers flow from one end of the tent to the other.
Also on hand will be fifteen local food vendors offering a hearty selection. Among those offering enticing bites are
Standard Gastropub, Bridgton Lions Club, Sophisticated Sausage, Webbs Mills Eats.
Three live bands,
Random Order, Carbon 4 and Chad Porter, will provide music as you sip.
This celebration of beer, community, food and entertainment is the Sebago Lakes Region’s biggest sampling event. It coincides with the Oktoberfest weekend at
Point Sebago Resort.
The Maine Lakes Brew Fest is presented by and for the benefit of the
Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce. The event host is Point Sebago and will include a craft fair.
