Sept. 4, Friday, 8pm, “Suzy Boggus,” one of country music’s most pristine and evocative vocalists. With the release of the Illinois native’s 1989 major label debut, Somewhere Between, Suzy quickly became one of the key artists that defined those golden days of ’90s country. She scored a string of Top 10 singles with country radio staples like “Outbound Plane,” “Drive South,” “Hey Cinderella,” “Letting Go” and “Aces,” and her 1991 album of that name was certified platinum. Sept. 5, Saturday, 6pm, “5k Road Race,” 17th Edition Library Race, a 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Kennebunk Free Library. The race will begin at 6 PM sharp, with awards to follow at 7 PM. Help support the Library while running or walking through scenic downtown Kennebunk and its well-known historic district. Local vendors are once again sponsoring a free picnic dinner for participants ($5 for those not running/walking). Beer and wine will be available for purchase. A free concert by “The Kennebunk River Band” will provide just the right atmosphere for this fun, family event.
