The spacious living room and kitchen invite folks to gather often, maybe after a day spent fishing on the lake. Large windows bring the beauty of the landscaped property inside. You’ll find granite countertops and tile floors in the kitchen.
Oh, and there isn’t just one kitchen. The finished walkout basement has its own kitchen and woodstove in the family room.

There are four bedrooms, including a master suite with its own bath. Two other bathrooms complete the picture. And the laundry room is located on the first floor for added convenience.
Picture yourself sipping morning coffee on the screened porch off the living room. Later in the day, you may enjoy sitting on the deck chatting with friends and neighbors.
Another added bonus—a two-car attached garage with easy entry to the house.
The yard is well manicured, and includes a vegetated buffer zone to the lake. The water depth off the end of the dock is about eight feet. From the dock, it’s a short ride to trophy sport fishing.

True’s Cove is fairly protected on breezy days and has much less boat traffic than further down the lake.
Then there’s the lake. The 5,543-acre Lake Cobbosseeconte, aka Cobbossee, is an island-studded gem. The lake has a maximum depth of 100 feet and an average depth of 37 feet.

Think quiet cove, pristine lake, spectacular views. Loons. Eagles. Osprey. Fishing. Swimming. Boating. Ice fishing. Relaxing. Close your eyes and put yourself in this setting.
Since the current owner, Gregg, had a job transfer that has pulled him away, he and his family can only come for vacations and sadly feel it’s time to sell. We asked Gregg about the experience of living here. “Living on the lake provides a sense of serenity that is hard to describe. Whenever I’m on the water or in the woods, I am truly at peace—never thinking about the stress of work or life in general. That is probably the best feature of living on the lake. There is a lot to be said for coming home from work on a stressful day, changing clothes, walking out your back door approximately 35 yards onto your dock, jumping in your boat and cruising, fishing, relaxing on your boat.”
Not only is the house large, but the yard is also a great place to entertain family and friends. Gregg’s family enjoyed cookouts, fish fries, lobster and clam feasts.
Would he change anything about the house? “If we still lived there full time, I had planned to convert the screened-in porch into a year-round porch by installing insulation and windows that could be opened with screens during the warmer months.” Food for thought going forth.
It’s located 20 minutes west of Augusta, 45 minutes from Freeport and about an hour from Portland and three hours from Boston.
“If I win the Powerball Lottery or come into some substantial unexpected inheritance,” says Gregg, “I would definitely keep the house to live in during the summer and share with family and friends upon my retirement.”
You’d better move quickly if you want to purchase this gorgeous lakefront property in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine. Make that sense of serenity yours to experience.
