July 18, Saturday, 8:30am-3pm, “Pushaw to Penobscot-A Paddle through Time,” join Bucky Owen and John Bear Mitchell to form a flotilla of six 28-foot canoes for a 10-mile journey from Hirundo Wildlife Refuge to Indian Island in Old Town. During 4-5 stops along the way the canoes will fart together for talks about archaeology, past climates, Penobscot use of the area, Hinundo’s 50th anniversary, Penobscot River Restoration, fish migration and more, bring picnic lunch, drinks provided, advance registration required, $10/member, $15/non-member, meet at Indian Island for carpooling, parking area opposite 21 Wabanki Way, Old Town.
