June 5-6, Friday and Saturday, 7pm, “Into the Woods, Jr.,” as the result of the curse of a once-beautiful witch, a baker and his wife are childless. Three days before the rise of a blue moon, they venture into the forest to find the ingredients that will reverse the spell and restore the witch’s beauty. June 5-6, Friday-Saturday, 8pm, “21st Annual Chamber Music Festival,” Chamber music is often defined as a group of musicians small enough to perform without a conductor, who in earlier times performed in the salons and homes of the rich and famous. On Friday June 5 and Saturday June 6 the Ogunquit Performing Arts invites you to join them at their home, the Dunaway Center, for the opportunity to hear two very special chamber ensembles. Boston Chamber Music on June 5, is a returning favorite, known for their imaginative approach and superb musicality. June 7, Sunday, 7:30pm, “James Cotton Superharp,” the musical pedigree of Grammy Award winner James ‘Superharp’ Cotton consists of a veritable who’s who in the world of the Blues and Rock and Roll, inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2006, the Smithsonian Institute in 1991, Grammy Winner, and winner of countless W.C. Handy Blues Awards, he played with Muddy Waters for twelve years, and has collaborated / shared the stage with B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Winter, the Allman Brothers, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Sam and Dave, The Grateful Dead, and many others, now in his seventieth year in the music business, Mr. Cotton continues to lead the way as the preeminent Blues harp master in the world.
