“New England’s Largest Wallpaper Collection,” South Berwick

Mar. 26-29, Thursday-Sunday, all day, “Biddeford Restaurant Week,” with downtown restaurants offering “Deals of the Day” and the Heart of Biddeford offering a $75 gift certificate to a downtown restaurant, “We want to encourage locals and visitors to discover the great downtown dining options. The restaurants are participating by offering specials during the week, and they’re also giving back through the Community Soup-er,” says Heart of Biddeford executive director, Delilah Poupore. The Community Soup-er will feature a selection of soups and breads from many downtown restaurants including Dahlia’s Delights, New Morning Cafe, Thai Me, Mae Mee, and more. In addition, local ceramic artists are donating special handmade bowls that diners can purchase. Bowls start at $10 each, and entitle the purchaser to a sample of two soups and bread. Beverages and additional biscuits will be available for purchase from Biscuits & Company. Diners can complete a Restaurant Week Entry form, located on the counter of each business, during Restaurant Week. Heart of Biddeford will collect the entry forms by April 1, and award one lucky winner a $75 Gift Certificate to the restaurant of their choice, downtown Biddeford. Take a crash course in New England wallpaper evolution: learn how to tell the difference between block-printed paper and later machine prints, or a twentieth-century reproduction wallpaper and its nineteenth-century original.
