Jan. 29-30, Thursday-Friday, 11am/Thurs., 7pm/Fri., “Pippin,” performed by Merriconeag Waldorf School’s 9th and 10h graders, this extraordinary musical tells the story of Pippin, the young son of Charlemagne, who is looking for a life filled with magic and meaning but it isn’t that easy to find in his corner of the sky. He tries war, politics, frolicking, art, religion-all to no avail. Yet he never gives up and by the finale, Pippin realizes that he can find within, that which he had been seeking outside, donations appreciated, Community Hall, Merriconeag Waldorf School, 57 Desert Road, Freeport. Jan. 29, Thursday, 7pm, “Cindy Kallett and Grey Larson,” Cindy is a superb singer, guitarist, songwriter, and mulit-instrumentalist, Grey is one of America’s finest players of the Irish flute and tin whistle, as well as an accomplished singer and concertina, fiddle, piano and harmonium player. As composers each contributes to the tapestry of contemporary folk and world music as it flourishes iin the US today.
