Windows galore frame the lake and well-landscaped property. Step onto the wrap-around deck and you’ll enjoy westerly views of the lake and mountains–think spectacular sunsets all year long.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bath. Nooks and crannies date back to the cottage’s origin. “This cottage was built in the early 1900s and has lots of character,” says Don, the current owner. “ A builder purchased it for himself and maintained the character but totally updated everything. This cottage is a perfect blend of history with current upgrades.”

Don and Pam purchased the property in 1989. “When the real estate agent brought us into the cottage,” he says, “we were immediately captivated with the stunning westerly view of the lake and mountains out the living room door and windows.”

The full walkout basement is unfinished and could easily become your family room. Don and Pam also dreamed of adding an attached garage with a master suite above. “This can be done as the 30% rule for homes close to the water is in effect making expansion to the cottage quite easy.”
Back outside, the house sits mere feet from the lake, revered for its above average water quality. The Swan Lake Association monitors the water quality throughout the season.
“The cottage is located at the deepest part of the lake (90 feet), which makes for enviable fishing, swimming and boating. In winter when frozen, the lake is alive with ice sailing, skating and ice fishing.”
And the property encompasses 2.34 acres, giving you plenty of space to entertain. Don tells us that the neighbors could not be nicer and more welcoming. “We have dined with them and have attended their family functions.”
Wildlife sitings are also a key feature of this property. “There are two pair of bald eagles nesting and fishing on the lake,” says Don. “Loons and mallard ducks are ever present and a constant reminder of the beauty of lakefront living. We also have two special chipmunks that we feed and greet us when we arrive. Their favorite seeds will be left for the new owners. Occasionally a moose is sited as it wonders into the lake. Fox and deer are visitors as well.”

In a perfect location to enjoy all this beautiful area has to offer, from house you can walk to Swan Lake Grocery Store or get in your car and be in Belfast ten minutes later. Camden is only a 35-minute drive away. It’s an easy two-hour trip up the turnpike from Portland, and four hours from Boston.
Don and Pam are selling because they feel it’s time for other families to make beautiful memories here. Don’t pass up the chance to make your own memories in this picturesque postcard setting.
