There are so many things to say about this house that I don’t know where to begin. Let’s start with the interior. Linda and Bill had the 2,520 square-foot modular house built in 2000. Step from the front porch into the foyer. The first floor features a large kitchen and dining room, half bath, living room and master suite with a full bathroom. Large windows send light streaming into the living spaces. And throughout the first floor is a sound system so you won’t miss a beat when moving about the house while listening to your favorite music.

Back in the foyer, climb the stairs to the second floor. Here you’ll find two more bedrooms and another full bath.

The living space continues in the basement. A finished family room, utility room and one-car garage are located on this level. Think winter–pull right in to unload groceries. A dream come true.

Step back outside. At both the front and back doors you’ll find a small deck. The back yard also features a small patio. “The property has a very private backyard with plenty of space for entertaining,” say the current owners. The house sits on one acre and offers broken views of the lake from inside and out.

Broken views? Huh? Well, this is the best of all worlds. The house is located in a small community with a shared waterfront. And this particular property happens to abut the common area, so you don’t have far to go to get to the lake.

The community’s amenities include a boat slip, dock, beach rights and right-of-way to the water. It’s all on one road, so you don’t have many neighbors. “We have had neighborhood cookouts, personal parties, and plenty of space to set up volley ball nets, horseshoes, etc.,” Bill and Linda tell us. One of the really nice features of the shorefront is that you can sit in the sun or shade.

Back on the property, you’ll notice a detached two-car garage and shed. Ah storage. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Snowmobiles, golf clubs and boats, oh my. “We’ve had the ability to snowmobile from the house to groomed local and state trails,” says Bill. “The heated garage with a back garage door enables you to drive snowmobiles in the front door and out the back.”

Linda adds, “We chose Long Lake because we were able to boat to Brandy Pond, Songo River and Sebago Lake.  Also, because Long Lake offers several locations for gas, marina services and the ability to tie up at public docks at each end of the lake (Harrison and Naples) to go to restaurants, ice cream shops and various stores.” And there are several golf courses within five to ten miles of the house.

This prime location is located close to Naples Causeway, Bridgton Center, Magic Lantern, Shawnee Peak, Beth’s Café, Black Horse Tavern, Campfire Grill, and the Point Sebago Golf Course. It’s less than an hour from Portland and less than three hours from Boston.

When we asked Bill and Linda if they’d make any changes, this was their answer: “If we had it to do over, we would have attached the free-standing garage to the house and finished off the upper level for guest quarters.” Food for thought.

The time has come for them to downsize and live closer to family members. And the time has come for you to stop dreaming about owning lakefront property and realize that dreams can come true. This one is meant to be yours.
