July 10, Thursday, 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., “Village Harmony,” Village Harmony Teen World Music Ensemble at Vienna Union Hall, Village Harmony, the acclaimed teen world music singing ensemble, led by Larry Gordon, Suzannah Park and special guest conductor Carlos Jurado from Colombia will perform at the Union Hall in Vienna, the group includes 25 brilliant teen singers ages 12-18, from nine states plus France, the program includes traditional songs and choral arrangements from Latin America, South African songs and dances, American Appalachian and shape-note songs and several renaissance works, suggested admission at the door is $10, $5 for students and seniors, Vienna Union Hall, 5 Mountain Road, Rt. 41 in Vienna Village, Vienna. July 11 – July 12, Thursday – Friday, 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., “Bates Dance Festival presents Prometheus Dance,” Prometheus Dance, Boston’s premiere company, opens the season with its viscerally charged and dramatic “Heart of the Matter.” A full-evening work exquisitely performed by the company of eight, “Heart of the Matter” dissects the impact of relationships over time and how we hurt each other in the name of love, co-Artistic Directors Diane Arvanites and Tommy Neblett have created more than 50 works for their company and have received numerous awards and honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts Creativity Grant.
