Feb. 6 – 9, Thursday – Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., “USM Faculty Show,” we proudly present new work by full- and part-time faculty in a wide array of media and approaches including two faculty/community collaborations, the exhibition offers highlights from three decades of landscape paintings by George Burk, retiring longtime USM Associate Professor of Art. Other exhibiting faculty include: S. Feb. 7, Friday, 7:30 p.m., “Amarentos Quartet,” the term “cutting edge” doesn’t even begin to describe Amarantos Quartet, hailing from Portland, Maine, these four young string musicians have successfully compiled a diverse repertoire of musical genres into their own exclusive sound, from classical to contemporary, baroque to tango, this chamber group’s out of the box approach is sure to leave you inspired and wanting more, you do not need to be a lover of classical music to enjoy this performance, $18 average per seat, Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, 18 Bradley Street, Fryeburg. Geils, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kevin with Marc Cohn and Ray and Lamontagne, Paul with Elvis Costello and Aimee Mann, and Jay..geez, who hasn’t he played with…. Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Bob Dylan, and more.
