Dec. 28, Saturday, 8:30-11am, “Bald Peak Hike,” climb the Bald Peak Trail to the Big Bald Peak and then visit the Red Pine Woodland on the North Peak, conditions permitting. Conditions may require microspikes, snowshoes and hiking poles. Strenuous. Meet at the Bald Peak trail head, free, Bald Peak Trail Head, Route 107, Bridgton. Dec. 29, Sunday, all day, “Winter Festival,” join Shawnee Peak as we welcome Winter. As the evening rolls around we will be settling in for some fun. DJ Ron Reid will be entertaining in Blizzards pub apres ski, with Laura from WHEB who will have all kinds of fun giveaways. We will have our popular Torch light parade followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 7.30pm. Dec. 31, Tuesday, events throughout the day, “Galumpha New Year’s Eve Show,” combining stunning acrobatics, striking visual effects, physical comedy and inventive choreography, Galumpha brings to life a world of imagination, beauty, muscle and merriment. This show is part of the Family New Year’s Eve festival which starts at 7:30pm in the King Pine Room (Galumpha at 8pm).  Admission is two non-persishable food items per person or $5 per person. Widowmaker Entertainment Presents Richard James and the Name Changers Join us in the Widowmaker Lounge for live entertainment performed by Richard James and the Name Changers . Apres show performed by The Tina Kelly Band. Apres ski shows are 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm with the main shows 9:30 pm – 12:30 pm. Fireworks: Join your fellow Sugarloafers on The Beach as we celebrate the New Year with a beautiful and stunning fireworks display! Grammy nominated Shemekia has become one of our favorite regulars. She has won more blues awards to mention and shared the stage with such luminaries as Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Mick Jagger, and Eric Clapton, and has even performed at the White House for President and Mrs. Obama. In 2011 at the Chicago Blues Festival she was given the honor of the new “Queen of the Blues” by official proclamation of the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois.
