“Pumpkin Hayrides,” Wolfe’s Neck Farm, Freeport

Oct. 31, Thursday, 10:00 a.m.-2 p.m., “Pumpkin Hayrides” Come on out to the Farm for a family outing to remember. Set on the shores of Casco Bay, Wolfe’s Neck Farm is a 626 acre nonprofit demonstration farm just a short, scenic drive from downtown Freeport and adjacent to Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park. Enjoy the fall foliage and take a hayride out to the pumpkin field. Nov. 1, Friday, 7:00 p.m., “November Friday Night Flicks,” the first film, on November 1st, will be Best In Show, a hilarious look at the world of dog shows, which has appeared on many critics’ lists of the funniest movies of all time. Guest uses the same company of actors in most of his films, including Jane Lynch, Eugene Levy, Ed Begley Jr and Michael McKean among others. Fred Willard’s portrayal of the clueless television announcer is a real standout, although the entire cast, and the pooches, all shine. Each is a fusion of photographic body imagery with one of six botanical collagraph plates, including Hydrangea, Nasturtium, Wisteria, Quince and Beech.
