Bethel Inn and Country Club, Bethel, Maine: Golf with Picture Perfect Mountain Views

Bethel Inn and Country Club Captures True Essence of Maine Golf

The Bethel Inn and Country Club in Bethel, Maine, features world-class golfing. Originally built in 1913, the course was expanded to 18 holes and redesigned by renowned architect Geoffrey Cornish in 1988.

America’s Greatest Golf Resorts magazine has rated it “among the top ten resort courses in all the Northeast. Golf Digest awarded the course 3 1/2 stars.
Each hole has been designed to challenge the strategy of the expert golfer, and with five tees to choose from, it keeps from intimidating the beginner. All find it fair and gratifying. Golfers enjoy the picture perfect mountain views and tree-lined fairways throughout the round. The landscape is ever changing and each of the 18 holes has its own character.
The staff is committed to making sure members have a genuine and enjoyable golf experience. Membership options are available for individuals, families, youth and seniors. The practice facility includes a grass driving range and putting green. At the golf shop, you’ll find equipment, rentals and apparel.
Mark Mallory is the golf pro for the Guaranteed Performance™ School of Golf. Students receive personalized on-course PGA instruction, video analysis, resort accommodations and three daily meals, a welcoming cocktail reception, unlimited use of a golf cart, range, practice and resort facilities, and the ultimate–a promise that their “game will improve . . . Guaranteed!”
The course is open from early May until late October. It’s the home of the New England PGA Fall Festival Pro-Am and the State of Maine Championships. Tournaments and other events occur throughout the season. And during the winter months, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails traverse the terrain.
Bethel Inn and Country Club is located only six miles from Sunday River. The resort is 3 1/2 hours from Boston and an hour and three quarters from Portland, Maine.
