The Water Gems of Hiram, Maine: Stanley Pond, Big Clemons Pond & Little Clemons Pond

Clouds reflect on the Crystal Clear Waters of Clemons Pond

Stanley Pond, Big Clemons Pond and Little Clemons Pond are the jewels of the Sebago Lake Region. Small in size, this chain of lakes offer undisturbed shoreline and natural habitat. You’ll find rare lakefront property on these beautiful, quiet ponds with very few motor boats. Views of the surrounding hills and mountains are breathtaking. To date, no invasive species have been found on any of these ponds.

Lakefront Properties For Sale in Hiram

Stanley Pond, located in Hiram and Porter, covers 137 acres and has a maximum depth of 75 feet. A 10-foot wide town-owned boat ramp for small trailered boats is adjacent to the outlet off Tripp Road. Parking is limited.
The water quality of Stanley Pond is very good. Anglers enjoy fishing for brook trout, splake, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and chain pickerel.
Big Clemons Pond covers 81 acres and has a maximum depth of 44 feet. The water quality is monitored by volunteers Victor Lerish and Nancy Serrell. President Richard Hunt of the Clemons Pond Association noted in a newsletter that “Victor Lerish reported above average water quality with good clarity, dissolved oxygen and phosphorus content for another year.”
Little Clemons Pond covers 25 acres and has a maximum depth of 30 feet. The water quality is slightly above average. Carry-in boat access is available on private property along Route 160, which parallels the southwestern shore of the pond. Brook trout, largemouth bass and chain pickerel are the principal fisheries.
Hiram is a quaint village along the Saco River. This peaceful and quiet location is perfect for a vacation getaway, yet it’s close to outlet shopping and outdoor recreation found in North Conway, NH. In Hiram, you’ll find the  Ossipee Valley Fairgrounds, where the annual fair is held at the beginning of July, while the Ossipee Valley Music Festival is held at the end of July. The Saco River Festival performs regularly during the summer at the bandstand in neighboring Cornish. And we highly recommend dinner at Krista’s restaurant before attending a concert.
