 The Litchfield Fair in Litchfield is located only 16 miles southwest of Augusta, Maine.  The smell of popcorn and hotdogs will fill the air for this three day gathering. And no fair is complete without fair food, such as cotton candy, blooming onions and sausage  on a stick. With its horse show, pig scramble, kiddie pedal tractor pull, horse, oxen and steer pulls, exhibitions, arts and crafts and demonstrations, this is what a fair should be. The annual tradition at the Litchfield Fair also includes an Old MacDonald’s Farm petting zoo, horticulture displays, rides, games, live music plus commercial vendors.Entertainment includes the Red Neck Truck Pull. As they say, “Let the bragging rights begin!” Prizes will be awarded for 1st thru 4th places in four different categories. On Friday and Saturday nights you can enjoy a band concert and  then watch the fireworks display on Saturday at 9 p.m.This classic event includes activities and entertainment for all age groups, so bring the entire family and spend the day. Better yet, stay for a few days and enjoy the surrounding area including the lakes: Woodbury Pond, Pleasant Pond, Barker Pond, Jimmy Pond, Little Purgatory, Sand Pond and of course, Cobbosee Lake.While you are here, take some time to look at lakefront properties.
