I am a part owner of property in Harrison and we have always adhered to the rules of clearing along the lakefront. I am appalled at the activity on the point, however this goes on repeatedly thruout the year. These people, construction firms and speculators KNOW the rules but opt for the fines since they will only be buried in the property sales. My suggestion is that any land cleared illegally must be dealt with by putting a hold on any permits to construct until the vegetation grows back at least to a point where it will prevent leaching into the lake. I remember drinking water from the lake(mid 70's)Not any more. You can't really stop progress but any new development should be inspected and approved before any permits are issued. Thank you !

4/12: A mitigation plan, fines, and potential penalties if the property is sold outside of the family in the next 10 years were all part of an agreement.
